UML is a graphic language, used for the specification, visualisation, construction and documentation of models of software systems. UML provides a much easier communication between the team, as well as with the customer.

The programming language is Java. Java is an object-orientated programming language according to the block construction method and puts together individual blocks (objects) of many different types (classes). These types can vary and in themselves create larger types (heredity and composition) and can send each other orders (news). The objects contain everything that is necessary to carry out any of these orders, e.g. data and know-how (methods). Java's most important characteristics are:

JSP (java server pages) is SUN's answer to Microsoft's ASP (active server pages). These are server-related programming languages, meaning that the web browser is only provided with a pure HTML code. JSP consists of 100% JAVA and is compiled by the server's engine. Through linking up with JavaBeans (own or external JAVA class libraries), JSP is a very strong solution for web based applications.
